With very heavy hearts, we would like to share the news of our Beloved Griffey crossing over the Rainbow Bridge. Griffey was the Original Sierra Mountain Brittany. Griffey touched the heart of anyone he greeted, it was always love at first sight, such a charming, funny boy. Forever the clown, Griffey brought smiles to the faces of everyone around him. His favorite possession was his tennis ball, he would amuse himself endlessly with it by playing fetch with himself, "throwing' it for himself, then "pretending" to lose it and "look" for it. Griffey was also an amazing bird dog, the finest we have had the privilege to hunt behind. He was as honest as the day is long, if he was on point, you better get your gun ready, because there was always a bird. He would stand motionless literally for hours on point while we taught the younger dogs to back and honor, never budging, never becoming annoyed with the antics of the pups. We harvested hundreds of chukar, grouse, pheasant and quail over this boy over the years, although he never became a field champion, he was a Champion in our hearts. Griffey's passing was difficult for us, especially for young Colson who had never lost a close friend before. Colson told Griffey before he passed to never forget him and to wait for him at the Bridge. We love you Griffey RIP Sir Griffey Wildfire JH April 9, 2000 - August 4, 2011.
